I have been a designer since the late 1990s, graduating from the Academy of Communicative Art in 1997. (My school has since changed it’s name to the Art Institute of Cincinnati, and moved locations.) Before that, I was briefly introduced to the wonderful world of computer-aided graphic design by my high school art teacher. I have always liked art, and here was a way I could make a living doing what I enjoyed.
I created this website to be a collection of my work; pieces that show a variety of things that I can do. From Annual Reports to Display Ads for the web, I have a wide range of skills that require an intense familiarity with many Adobe programs. I am most comfortable with InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, but also use Acrobat, Dreamweaver, and Muse. I also have spent a lot of time in the Microsoft Office suite of programs: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
While I enjoy learning, and the challenges that using a new system, program, or working in a different medium present, I also enjoy sharing that hard won knowledge with others. I believe the more any individual knows, the better off the team is as a whole. And it’s exciting to learn a new trick, or to show off a time-saving device to an appreciative friend.
I love design, I love what I do, I love being able to wake up in the morning and look forward to starting my work day.
